20 Apr 2005 - Review of Department of Health Central Funding of Hospital Chaplaincy
The number of people who are members of faiths other than Christian or Jewish has grown very substantially since the NHS was first established. For this reason, the Department of Health (DH) commissioned a review of the existing central funding of chaplaincy services, with a view to identifying ways in which central funds could be used to best effect in the future. This report outlines a number of recommendations all of which the DH will now explore in more detail by way of a series of meetings to consider implementation issues.
